Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan

Federally supported, low-interest student loans with flexible repayment options are available to all students who meet the eligibility requirements.  Eligibility for this loan type is based on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  You can find the 2023-2024 Federal Unsubsidized Loan Request Form here.

Credit-Based Loans (including Federal Direct Grad PLUS Loan)

The Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan is a credit-based loan that is available to assist students with the costs of higher education.  The application is available from the SSW Financial Aid Office.  Additional credit-based loan information is available at BU Financial Aid website.

Federal Work-Study Program

Available funds are provided by a federal allocation and a School of Social Work matching contribution to eligible full-time students. Recipients are selected by our Financial Aid Department and must meet federal need and other criteria. Work-study students are paid an hourly rate. Students may choose a position that interests them within or outside of the School of Social Work and apply directly. Job listings can be found in the Student Link.

Tuition Payment Plan

Students and their families may choose to budget all or part of their academic charges in monthly installments with a Tuition Payment Plan.
