{"id":5,"date":"2011-09-28T09:39:32","date_gmt":"2011-09-28T13:39:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sscores\/home\/"},"modified":"2016-02-10T12:56:12","modified_gmt":"2016-02-10T17:56:12","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sscores\/","title":{"rendered":"Overview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/sscores\/files\/2011\/09\/bumc-campus-obgyn.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"\/sscores\/files\/2011\/09\/bumc-campus-obgyn-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"BU campus\" title=\"BU campus\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-424\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Our mission is to provide specialized services and patient biosamples to the scleroderma research community to promote and facilitate research on systemic sclerosis.<\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>The National Scleroderma\u00a0Core Centers (or SScores)\u00a0provide a framework for more rapid advances in understanding systemic sclerosis (SSc) pathogenesis by providing pathologic skin and lung samples, and advanced technologies, microarray gene expression and proteomics, to existing and new SSc investigators.<\/p>\n<p>The Core Centers\u00a0coordinate robust clinical data collection to empower pathological tissue analyses and application of advanced technologies, providing uniform clinical assessments, high level analytical capabilities and large sample numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the Core Centers\u00a0accelerate research into SSc pathogenesis by helping individual investigators in their research projects, fostering collaboration between investigators through utilization of core resources, and creating consortia data that will empower further clinical-translational insights.<\/p>\n<h4>What can the SScores do for me and my research?<a href=\"\/sscores\/files\/2011\/09\/Tower2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" src=\"\/sscores\/files\/2011\/09\/Tower2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Tower2\" title=\"Tower2\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-425\" \/><\/a><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Basic Interaction <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I need the Core to embed, cut and stain some skin tissues for me<\/li>\n<li>No samples from the core<\/li>\n<li>No clinical information<\/li>\n<li>CORE provides: access to below market cost services.
