We developed an ever-evolving series of programs and opportunities to ground students in the core competencies of public health practice while also supporting their passion for social justice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Essential practice skills include clear written and oral communication, data analysis and interpretation, budget management, strategic thinking and planning, team and community engagement, and the art of leadership. Students learn the skills that complement and augment the world-class education provided in the classroom in order to prepare them to successfully face the world throughout their careers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Advocacy Workshops and Training:<\/b><\/h2>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h6 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Activist Clinics: Past\/Completed<\/h6><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<p><span>Our Activism Clinics are designed to provide students, faculty, and staff with training on a specific area of public health activism in a hands-on workshop experience.\u00a0<\/span><span>Each session will help students become well-rounded, skilled professionals who can develop issues from the ground up, explore strategies, and communicate effectively with community members, stakeholders, courts, agency officials, scientific experts, opposing parties, and more. These clinics are available for in-person participation only and will be recorded for later viewing.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h6 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Health Resources in Action - Opioid Overdose Prevention Training Project: Past\/Completed<\/h6><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><br \/>\nThe HRiA Opioid Overdose Prevention Training Project is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS), as part of SAMHSA\u2019s State Opioid Response (SOR) grant.
