To effectively use Blackboard, users must have a computer with high-speed Internet. Speeds of at least 50 Mbps are recommended, as is a wired connection. Additionally, users must verify that their computers meet the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/teaching\/lms\/blackboard\/system-requirements\/\">Blackboard System Requirements<\/a> set out by Boston University Information Services &amp; Technology (IS&amp;T).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the asynchronous material delivered via Blackboard, many courses will also incorporate synchronous elements via Zoom. To participate fully in\u00a0Zoom live classrooms, users are required to\u00a0have a headset with a microphone as well as a webcam. Please note that the minimum computer requirements for Blackboard are not the same as those required by Zoom. To determine if your computer also meets Zoom\u2019s specifications, review the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/201362023-System-Requirements-for-PC-Mac-and-Linux\">Zoom System Requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Be advised, if your computer does not adhere to the system requirements for both Blackboard and Zoom, you may experience\u00a0a degradation of content.
