Learning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Technology Learning workshops help individuals strengthen their knowledge in technology basics and online applications that are regularly part of an individual\u2019s day-to-day work.\u00a0\u00a0 These workshops are available to all faculty and staff through a variety of formats that give you an opportunity to learn at your own pace, on your own time.<\/p>\n<h4>Instructor-led trainings<\/h4>\n<p>Beyond the learning you can do independently using the <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/buworks\/help\/process-guides\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Process Guides<\/a><\/span> and <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/buworks\/help\/bw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Document Library<\/a><\/span>, BU offers a number of instructor-led workshops.\u00a0 These workshops are designed to help employees build skills in technology fundamentals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/buworks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BUWorks Trainings<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span>These Instructor-led trainings are available for employees who work in the Finance, Human Capital Management (HR), Procurement and Business Warehouse areas of BUworks.\u00a0 The <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/buworks\/grid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">training path grid<\/a><\/span> enables you to determine what training is recommended for you based on your business role.\u00a0 Once you understand what is recommended for your role, use the <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/buworks\/grid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">grid<\/a><\/span> to find out when the training is available and register to attend!\u00a0 There are also <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/buworks\/help\/process-guides\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">process guides<\/a><\/span> and <span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/buworks\/help\/bw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">document library<\/a><\/span> to supplement your learning.<\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/courseware\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blackboard<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<span>This course focuses on the basic tasks for setting up your Blackboard Learn course site.\u00a0 You will get an overview of the system and learn how to create content folders, upload documents, create links, and add students to courses.<\/span><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/desktop-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/research-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Qualtrics<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><span>Learn about Qualtrics and what it can do for you!\u00a0 Learn to create, edit distribute and view survey results.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/research-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NVivo<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><span>NVivo is a powerful tool for social scientists and humanists to analyze large or complex sets of qualitative data.\u00a0 This is a hands-on introductory workshop covering the basics of NVivo including the interface, ways of coding data, and using queries to analyst data.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/web\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WordPress<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><span>Learn the basics of WordPress in this introductory course, and the specifics of BU\u2019s WordPress installation.\u00a0 Learning how to navigate the editing and site-management tools, including adding imagines and links, work with custom plugins and Add A Link.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/rcs-tutorials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Research Computing Services<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span>The Research Computing Services group offers a series of tutorials on programming, high performance computing, and scientific visualization.\u00a0 These tutorials cover concepts, techniques, and tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Online Trainings with Terrier eDevelopment<span><a href=\"http:\/\/terrieredev.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span><a href=\"http:\/\/terrieredev.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Terrier eDevelopment<\/a> <\/span>is an e-learning platform available to BU faculty and staff, offering instant access to business skills and IT content from Management to Mindfulness, from critical thinking to collaboration, and Adobe to excel.\u00a0 Learning options include online course, books, executive summaries, and videos.\u00a0 You may access your learning on demand, and view your learning history to retrieve previously viewed
