Explore their collection of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facinghistory.org\/educator-resources\">educator resources<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facinghistory.org\/resource-library\/teaching-strategies\">teaching strategies<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facinghistory.org\/professional-development\">professional development<\/a> opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Inclusive Teaching Practices<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Iowa State University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/testcs.wpunj.edu\/cte\/resources-for-teachers\/StrategiestoCreateanInclusiveCourse.pdf\">inclusive course checklist<\/a>\u00a0helps address issues to consider when designing and leading a course.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ctl.columbia.edu\/resources\/download-teaching-guide\/\">Guide for Inclusive Teaching at Columbia<\/a>\u00a0helps instructors answer that question by offering five inclusive teaching principles derived from research and evidence-based practices.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronicle.com\/article\/how-to-make-your-teaching-more-inclusive\/?fbclid=IwAR3-LxbBuV5YESY4cU-pusePlKPAU46qiJRIQB-47WiCyJamCvVPY6Y5pZY\">How to Make Your Teaching More Inclusive: Advice Guide\u00a0<\/a>from <em>The Chronicle of Higher Education<\/em> shares tips that any instructor can use to minimize inequities and help more students succeed.<\/p>\n<p>Innovative\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.lsa.umich.edu\/inclusive-teaching\/\">teaching methods and tools<\/a>\u00a0from the University of Michigan that foster success for students through inclusive teaching practices<\/p>\n<p>Vanderbilt University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/cft.vanderbilt.edu\/guides-sub-pages\/increasing-inclusivity-in-the-classroom\/\">Increasing Inclusivity in the Classroom <\/a>teaching guide\u00a0discusses the importance of inclusivity in the classroom, presents examples of teaching more inclusively, and provides additional resources for further guidance.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Racial Equity Tools<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.racialequitytools.org\/home\">Racial Equity Tools<\/a> is designed to support individuals and groups working to achieve racial equity. This site offers tools, research, tips, curricula and ideas for people who want to increase their own understanding and to help those working toward justice at every level \u2013 in systems, organizations, communities and the culture at large.<\/p>\n<p>The Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) and the editors of\u00a0<i>Pedagogy in Health Promotion<\/i>\u00a0have curated a <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/php\/collection-teaching-racial-justice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">special collection<\/a> of previously published peer-reviewed articles discussing pedagogical approaches for addressing racism and health equity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aisp.upenn.edu\/centering-equity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Toolkit for Centering Racial Equity Throughout Data Integration<\/a>\u00a0by Actionable Intelligence for Social Policy (AISP), University of Pennsylvania (2020)<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Reimagining Disability &amp; Inclusion Education<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/diversity\/resource-toolkit\/digital-accessibility\/\">Digital accessibility<\/a> resources curated by the BU Office of Distance Education, provide useful starting points for understanding and improving digital accessibility in and outside of the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Every single person is unique and has different skills, so why are students taught the same way? The presentation slides can be <a href=\"\/sph\/files\/__restricted\/entire-bu-community\/10.28.21-Trauma-Informed-Pedagogy.pdf\">found here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ctl\/trauma-informed-teaching\/\">This guide<\/a> to trauma-informed teaching highlights teaching principles and resources, accompanied by concrete strategies used by BU faculty.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sophie Godley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/files\/__restricted\/entire-bu-community\/Ideas-for-increasing-trauma-informed-classrooms-Sophie-Godley.pdf\">compiled ideas<\/a> for increasing trauma-informed classrooms, including sample language for syllabi.<\/p>\n<p>Columbia School of Social Work created a <a href=\"https:\/\/academiccommons.columbia.edu\/doi\/10.7916\/d8-gc9d-na95\">one-page overview<\/a> of trauma-informed teaching and learning principles and practices to\u00a0support educators during a global health crisis. This was created to help those educators who are managing the quick move to online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/10.1177\/0092055X211022471\"><em>Beyond Trigger Warnings: A Survivor-Centered Approach to Teaching<\/em><\/a> by Nicole Bedera, \u201cbuilds a trauma-informed and survivor-centered pedagogy that offers specific examples and strategies of how to teach to survivors instead of around them.\u201d June 4, 2021<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">What LGBTQ Students Want From Their Faculty<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>\u201c15 LGBTQ-identified Penn students tell faculty what they need in order to fully participate and learn in the classroom&#8230; This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=z1TPJoYKw5E\">video<\/a> was produced by faculty, staff and students at the University of Pennsylvania with support from Penn Futures Project and the Provost&#8217;s Excellence Through Diversity program.&#8221; Amy Hillier.
