{"id":197562,"date":"2021-06-25T11:34:19","date_gmt":"2021-06-25T15:34:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/?post_type=bu-article&#038;p=197562"},"modified":"2021-06-25T14:57:43","modified_gmt":"2021-06-25T18:57:43","slug":"sph-wins-gold-silver-case-awards","status":"publish","type":"bu-article","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/news\/articles\/2021\/sph-wins-gold-silver-case-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"SPH Wins Gold, Silver CASE Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-prepress-component-metabar sphnews-prepress-layout-metabar\">\n\t<div class=\"wp-prepress-component-metabar-wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-prepress-component-metabar-date\">June 25, 2021<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-prepress-component-metabar-credits\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul data-credit-type=\"By\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/news\/authors\/jillian-mckoy\/\">Jillian McKoy<\/a><\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"wp-prepress-component-metabar-share js-bu-prepress-share-tools\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"icon-twitter\"><span>Twitter<\/span><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"icon-facebook\"><span>Facebook<\/span><\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"icon-action\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a02020 issue of <em>SPH This Year<\/em> the School of Public Health\u2019s annual year-in-review magazine, won two\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.case.org\/awards\/circle-excellence-awards\" target=\"_blank\">Circle of Excellence Awards<\/a>\u2014Gold and Silver\u2014from the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.case.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Council for Advancement and Support of Education<\/a>\u00a0(CASE) on June 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"362\" src=\"\/sph\/files\/2021\/06\/sphty-2020-cover.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-197568\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The publication represented a collaboration between Boston University\u2019s Creative Services and the SPH Communications&nbsp;team.&nbsp;The magazine focused on the future of public health in a post-COVID era, and highlighted the innovative work that SPH faculty, staff, students, and alums have done to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic\u2014and many other critical issues\u2014to create healthier, equitable conditions that advance racial, social, and economic justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The international awards program honors outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising, and marketing at colleges, universities, independent schools, and affiliated nonprofit organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The magazine received the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.case.org\/awards\/circle-excellence\/2021\/sph-year-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gold Award<\/a> in the Publications: Institutional Relations\u2014President\u2019s Reports and Annual Reports category, with the judges commenting on the \u201cinnovative approach to design that results in a really eye-catching publication\u201d and stating that the \u201clayout, especially the use of color and the varied imagery and well-written text, created a harmonious balance between the institution and reader.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>SPH This Year<\/em>&nbsp;took silver for the Design\u2014Periodicals and Magazines category, for which the judges described the magazine as a \u201cunique publication\u201d with an overall layout that is \u201cdynamic and appealing to look at.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BU received a total of 13 awards, the second highest number of awards by any higher education institution this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CASE received almost 3,000 entries for consideration in 100 categories by 530 member institutions of higher education, independent schools, and nonprofits, from 27 countries. Judges gave more than 500 Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Grand Gold Awards.
