Biden Plan\" class=\"wp-image-180680\"\/><figcaption>Joe Biden among the attendees of the signing of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in 2010.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Former Vice President Joe Biden has pledged to make health care coverage more accessible and affordable\u2014through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), rather than by creating a Medicare-for-all system like his more progressive Democratic primary candidates proposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a new opinion piece <a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/channels\/health-forum\/fullarticle\/2771413\">published in <em>JAMA Health Forum<\/em><\/a>, two School of Public Health researchers lay out concrete steps that Biden, if he wins the presidency, can take to fulfill that promise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAlthough many progressives will not be satisfied with incremental changes to health care financing, such an approach is considered likely if Biden is elected,\u201d write <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/profile\/paul-shafer\/\">Paul Shafer<\/a>, assistant professor of health law, policy &amp; management, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/profile\/austin-b-frakt\/\">Austin Frakt<\/a>, research professor of health law, policy &amp; management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that doesn\u2019t mean these incremental changes can\u2019t have a huge impact, they write.
