2023 December Graduate Reception
On December 8, the School of Public Health hosted its annual December Graduate Reception to recognize and celebrate the achievements of those graduating at the end of January. Held in the Hiebert Student Lounge, the event was a welcome end to the fall semester and an evening of well-deserved celebration for soon-to-be public health professionals and their family and friends.

Students and guests were welcomed ecouraging words from Dean Sandro Galea, Associate Dean for Practice Craig Andrade, Assistant Dean for Students Mary Murphy-Phillips, Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Yvette Cozier, and guest speaker Tomeka Frieson.
Frieson graduated with her MPH in May 2023 after undergraduate studies in ecology, evolutionary biology, and the history of science, medicine, and public health at Yale University. She is currently working in New Haven as the breast/chestfeeding initiative coordinator for the Community Alliance for Research & Engagement ahead of returning to school to pursue a MD/PhD.

Students donned regalia for photos with friends and family. Many will likely return to campus later this spring as all January graduates are invited to participate in the full in-person ceremony in May 2024.
