BUSPH’s Mike Siegel weighs in on the controversy over e-cigarettes with an Op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, arguing that the “gateway hypothesis” surrounding electronic cigarettes is “a myth.” Siegel, who has extensively studied smoking and tobacco control, says government agencies and public health officials “have no business discouraging or disparaging e-cigarettes in the absence of any data that they are causing harm.
