Dr. Claudia Fegan is chief medical officer for the Cook County Health and Hospital System and John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County; national coordinator of Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP); and president of the Chicago-based Health and Medicine Policy Research Group.

Dr. Fegan has appeared on national television and radio programs on behalf of PNHP and has testified before congressional committees on a wide range of health care issues. She has lectured extensively to both medical and community audiences on health care reform in the U.S. and Canada, and is a co-author of the book “Universal Healthcare: What the United States Can Learn from the Canadian Experience” and a contributor to “10 Excellent Reasons for National Health Care.” In 2016, Modern Healthcare named Dr. Fegan one of “10 Minority Executives to Watch,” noting her achievements in the medical profession and her single-payer activism. She is the 2017 recipient of the Paul Cornely award from the Physicians Forum.

Dr. Fegan received her undergraduate degree from Fisk University and her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, certified in health care quality and management, and a diplomate of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.

Maryanne C. Bombaugh is a gynecologist at the Community Health Center of Cape Cod and past president of the Massachusetts Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Bombaugh is a member of the Massachusetts Delegation to the American Medical Association.

Prior to joining the Community Health Center of Cape Cod, Dr. Bombaugh was Executive Medical Director of Population Health and Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety at Reliant Medical Group and was Associate Medical Director for Quality for the Steward Health Care Network.

In addition to her clinical work and activity in organized medicine, Dr. Bombaugh also serves on the boards of CeltiCare Health and Coverys.

Dr. Bombaugh earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed her internship at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston Texas and her residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

A veteran of the U. S. military, she served 12 years in the United States Army Medical Corps, eight years on active duty and four years in the reserves and completed her military service as the Division Chief of Gynecology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Jodi Liu is a policy researcher at the RAND Corporation. Her research primarily focuses on issues related to health care financing and payment. Liu has experience using simulation modeling to analyze the effects of health care policy changes on health insurance coverage, household and government spending, and provider revenues. Her work has involved assessing health care reform proposals, alternative payment models, policy options for single-payer health care, and health care system capacity for diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. She recently conducted economic analysis of state and national single-payer health care options. She earned her Ph.D. in policy analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School, her M.S.P.H. in global disease epidemiology and control from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and degrees in biomedical and chemical engineering from the University of Michigan.
