Anahaita is the Chief Executive Officer of Lifting Up Westchester, a non-profit serving homeless and other extremely low income residents of Westchester County. After more than twenty years in the securities industry, she moved to the non-profit sector in 2011 and served for 5½ years as Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel for Inspirica, Inc., the largest provider of services to homeless individuals and families in lower Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Prior to joining Inspirica, Anahaita spent 13 years at RBS (formerly Greenwich Capital), where she last served as Managing Director and General Counsel of its investment bank in the Americas. At RBS, Anahaita led a team of over 75 legal professionals and managed the firm’s legal, regulatory, and reputational risk. In addition, she was a member of the Management Committee for the Americas. Prior to joining RBS, Anahaita was a Senior Trial Counsel for the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Anahaita has extensive experience providing pro bono legal and other services to the non-profit community. She is a Director of the Pro Bono Partnership and received the Partnership’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2003 and Volunteer of the Decade award in 2007. She is also a Director of Non-Profit Westchester, a non-profit dedicated to advancing the interests of non-profits in the county. She served for more than a decade as a volunteer and Director of My Sister’s Place, was a Director of both the Westchester County and Fairfield County Community Foundations and volunteered for the Student Sponsored Partnership in New York City as a mentor to a high school student who wanted to attend college. She is the former founder and Chair of the RBS Greenwich Capital Foundation, a former Director and Co-President of the Women’s Bond Club of New York, and a former Executive Committee member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s Compliance and Legal Division. From 2012 to 2018, Anahaita was also a Director of OneMain Financial, Inc., a public consumer finance company and chaired its Compliance Committee.
Anahaita received a B.Sc. magna cum laude in Applied Math and Economics from Brown University in 1988 and a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1991.
