Research Scientist at PRECISIONheor

Emily Glowienka is a Research Scientist at PRECISIONheor. At Precision, Emily conducts and manages evidence synthesis projects, including both qualitative systematic literatures reviews and systematic reviews used to inform quantitative analyses (i.e., indirect treatment comparisons, matching-adjusted indirect comparisons, [network] meta-analyses). Her work is used to support submissions to Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies, as well as drug reimbursement strategies, economic evaluations, and internal evidence generation.

Prior to her work at PRECISIONheor, Emily worked as an analyst for a bio-device company specializing in stem cell therapeutics. She also worked as a study coordinator at Columbia University/NYSPI, where she managed several federally funded research studies in the field of psychiatric epidemiology.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys hiking, yoga, and playing with her golden retriever puppy Poppins.

Michael Hammond is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. His research focuses on using biostatistical and epidemiological tools and methods, to improve health outcomes of people with cardiovascular disease. His interest lies in the intersection of the environmental and genetic determinants of cardiovascular disease, with a specific focus on how race, lifestyle, and social factors drive these factors. Prior to Northwestern, Michael worked as a Research Assistant at Boston University’s and National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s Framingham Heart Study and the Department of Pediatrics, Boston Medical Center. Michael also served as a Research Assistant at the Richard A. & Susan F. Smith Center for Outcomes Research in Cardiology (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center) in 2019. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Medical Sciences) from the University of Ghana, a medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School, and a Master’s of Public Health degree (focusing in Biostatistics and Epidemiology) from Boston University. Beyond his research interests, Michael likes to impart knowledge through teaching and mentoring. He was a course tutor for Quantitative methods in Public Health. Michael strongly believes in the power of education and the positive impact it has on individuals and society.

Kayleigh Sandhu has been an infectious disease surveillance epidemiologist with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) for four years. Her interest in epidemiology started in college when participating in research on how the skeletal evidence of syphilis could be used to track it’s historical progression throughout the world. Taking this interest in disease movement in populations, she decided to pursue a career helping the living through infectious disease epidemiology. Since obtaining her MPH from Boston University in 2016, she has worked on the Zika Virus outbreak, rare tick-borne diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, and last but certainly not least in 2020: the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently promoted to Epidemiologist II Internship Program and Training Coordinator within the Division of Epidemiology, she will be managing the upcoming 2021 season of the Local Health Internship Program.

Matt Stafford is the Assistant Director for Clinical Research Compliance at Boston Children’s Hospital, and Co-Chair
of the Harvard Catalyst Regulatory Group’s Social Behavioral Educational Research (SBER) Sub-Committee. At
Children’s he manages the day-to-day operations of the IRB Office, ensuring that the hospital’s human subject research complies with federal regulations, ethical principles and best practices. Before coming to Boston, he managed the IRB Office at the New York Blood Center and also worked at Columbia University’s Morningside (SBER) IRB. He has a degree in South Asian studies from Columbia and an MPH at Boston University’s School of
Public Health in Health Policy and Management. He currently lives in Newton, MA with his nurse practitioner wife, Melissa, their sons Lucas and Noah, and their English Cream Golden Retriever, Haruko.

She is currently an informative and analytics epidemiologist for the Seattle and King County Department of Public Health. In her role, Nicole supports the COVID-19 pandemic response. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys cooking and hiking and skiing in the northern cascades.
