(Around BU) Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Commemoration.

The City of Boston and Boston University are pleased to announce this year’s commemoration to honor the life and legacy of the University’s greatest alumnus, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, to take place Monday, January 20, 12:00pm at the George Sherman Union. The event will feature a welcome from The Honorable Martin J. Walsh, Mayor of the City of Boston, and keynote remarks from Dr. Brenda Cassellius, Superintendent of the Boston Public Schools. This year’s commemoration will also celebrate the contributions of Coretta Scott King and Sue Bailey Thurman to the Greater Boston community, as well as the music of Aretha Franklin, with musical performances by the Boston University Band and Inner Strength Gospel Choir.
