GH Presentation: “They did not tell me anything”: Measuring, Understanding, and Improving Person-Centered Maternity Care.

Dr. Patience Afulani will be presenting her research on improving person-centered maternity care in Sub Saharan Africa. She is currently a post-doctoral fellow with the Preterm Birth Initiative, in the department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences and the Institute for Global Health Sciences, at the University of California, San Francisco. She obtained her MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) from the University of Ghana Medical School and her MPH and PhD in Public Health, with a certificate in Global Health, from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her primary area of research is reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and child health, with a focus how these are shaped by social determinants as well as quality of care in health facilities.
