Dear Colleagues,

I am thrilled to announce that Sarah Ketchen Lipson joined the Health Law, Policy & Management faculty on May 21 as an Assistant Professor.

Sarah received her PhD from University of Michigan in 2016 and has been on the faculty there for the past two years. Her research focuses on mental health and mental health service utilization among adolescents and young adults, with an emphasis on college populations. In particular, Sarah is interested in understanding and addressing mental health disparities experienced by marginalized youth. She employs varied methodologies, including large-scale surveys and population-level interventions.

Sarah is co-Principal Investigator of an annual survey, the Healthy Minds Study, which has been conducted on over 200 college and university campuses across the country in recent years (including BU!). She is also a versatile teacher and will be contributing to teaching across the curriculum, beginning with PH 842: Research Theory and Design this fall.

Sarah received her bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, her master’s from Harvard University, and was a Fulbright scholar in Turkey. She is originally from Arlington, Massachusetts and is a die-hard Celtics fan! Her office is in Talbot West and she can be reached at sklipson@bu.edu or 617-358-2167.

Best,

Michael
