Dear Colleagues:

A thank you to faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, and friends of SPH for making the fifth annual BU Giving Day an enormous success. Although the final tallies will not be in for a few weeks, preliminary tally shows that more than 350 donations were received, far exceeding the 200-donor goal we set for ourselves. That represents a roughly 100 percent increase over last year and 50 percent higher than our goal. All funds help us build the foundation to support our mission—to improve the health of local, national, and global populations. From student scholarships to cutting-edge research, from program development to fieldwork sparked by global health needs, philanthropic gifts provide support for the school’s most pressing, and most consequential, pursuits in the 21st century.

Clearly this is a day where all of our engagement, literally, makes the difference. Thank you. A particular thank you to SPH’s Development and Alumni Relations team—Jacoba van Heugten, Jean-Marie Bonofilio, and Arielle Fischer—who are leading us to the future of development as a school.
