Dear colleagues,

I wish to share three brief thoughts before we head into the weekend.

First, I want to thank our community for the hard work that all have been putting in over the past nearly three months. It cannot be said enough that this time is a hard time, and an unprecedented one. We have been asked to do more than before, with less, and under challenging circumstances. That the SPH community has risen to the occasion has given me no shortage of appreciation for our collective contributions to public health during a time when it is needed more than ever. I am grateful to each and every member of our community for your work during this time, and always.

Second, with that gratitude, and with a hope for all to take time to rest following a challenging semester, SPH will have an early release at 2:00 PM, as noted by Dean Lazic in her message to the community yesterday.

Third, we are grateful for all who have already contributed comments on what worked well over the past semester and ways that we can improve as a School as we prepare for the Fall and year ahead. As noted earlier this week, we launched a survey to collect comments, thoughts, and suggestions as we look back to the semester and look to the coming semester. Thank you to many of you who have already offered your comments. The survey will close on Monday, May 25 at 5:00 pm. The link is below.

Thank you to all for your work during an unprecedented time in our history as a school and a country. I recognize change is not easy, but we can also aspire, I think, to change providing us with opportunities for growth, for new ideas, and even for the potential for us to build a healthier world once we are able to reflect and evolve from this moment.

I wish you and your families all a healthy and restful weekend.

Warmly,

Sandro
