{"id":10325,"date":"2020-07-24T16:25:31","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T20:25:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sociology\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=10325"},"modified":"2024-10-04T18:19:12","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T22:19:12","slug":"sara-bubenik","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sociology\/profile\/sara-bubenik\/","title":{"rendered":"Sara Bubenik"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sara Bubenik is a postdoctoral fellow at United Way of Massachusetts Bay (UWMB) and was named\u00a0an American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). <span>Bubenik has been appointed as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acls.org\/fellow-grantees\/sara-bubenik\/\">UWMB Research Communications Director<\/a>\u00a0where, among other responsibilities, she will collaborate with colleagues and research partners to disseminate findings from ongoing research efforts to a broad audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Sara\u2019s research interests lie at the intersection of social support, collective trauma, and digital spaces. Her dissertation explores how people use social media in the era of COVID-19 to seek and receive social support when in-person contact is restricted or unavailable.
