He conducts comparative historical research that lies at the intersection of sociology, political science, and global health. He is author of Achieving Access: Professional Movements and the Politics of Health Universalism (Cornell University Press, 2017). He was recently elected Vice Chair of the International Studies Association\u2019s Global Health Section and is a member of the editorial collective at Studies in Comparative International Development. He is co-founder of the American Sociological Association\u2019s Global Health and Development Interest Group, a past member of the governing Council of the ASA Section on the Sociology of Development, and past Associate Editor at Social Science and Medicine. He has received two Fulbright scholarships for his research on the politics of health policy in Thailand. He received his doctorate in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a Master\u2019s in Public Affairs from Princeton\u2019s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
