Lauren Crosser is a sociologist at Brandeis University, researching in the areas of political sociology, social theory, and race and racism. Her research draws on mixed methods to examine the relationship between 19th century post-slavery U.S. political economy, higher education institutions, empire, and knowledge production. She has published articles in Social Science History (forthcoming) and City and Community. Lauren has several years of teaching experience at both the primary school and college levels. Prior to doing doctoral work, she taught social studies and art in middle and high school.
