Undergraduate Claire Lawry wins Susan K. Jackson Award

Claire Lawry (CAS, Sociology Class of 2019) has been named the undergraduate recipient of the 2019 Susan K. Jackson Award, which honors one graduating senior who created and nurtured community in the College of Arts & Sciences. The Award recognizes Claire’s high academic achievement and selfless dedication to the College of Arts & Sciences through peer mentorship, student leadership, service to others, and active community building.

Claire was nominated for and awarded this prestigious honor for a number of reasons, including her outstanding academic achievement, her service as the president of the BU Undergraduate Sociological Association, her work as a department tutor, and–perhaps most notably–her tireless efforts and clear vision that brought Angela Davis to campus.

Congratulations, Claire!
