You are advised to be cautious when looking for off-campus jobs because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/seo\/students\/studentjobservice\/job-scam-alerts\/\">job scams<\/a> are a real threat to your financial and physical safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job scammers will often<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Claim to be out of the country, or to be in the middle of an emergency situation.<\/li>\n<li>Send you a check before you have completed or started the work.<\/li>\n<li>Ask you to cash a check for them and send them back part of the money, or forward part of the money to someone else.<\/li>\n<li>Ask you to purchase gift cards and send them the card information.<\/li>\n<li>Ask you to purchase and mail items.<\/li>\n<li>Ask you to complete a wire transfer of funds.<\/li>\n<li>Ask for your credit card, banking information, or Social Security Number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BU students find jobs both on and off campus.
