Carruthers\u2019 work will center on communication link design and modeling: modulation, interference, noise, system configuration optimization, and the devices. The communication link ties into the requirements of networking and applications, providing the \u201chorsepower\u201d for systems applications, and also will be a driver for development of novel devices and materials to meet the challenges of the free-space optical communication environment.<\/p>\n<h3>Related Publications:<\/h3>\n<p>J.
