{"id":3849,"date":"2014-11-21T10:15:39","date_gmt":"2014-11-21T15:15:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/smartlighting\/?page_id=3849"},"modified":"2014-11-21T10:16:29","modified_gmt":"2014-11-21T15:16:29","slug":"postdoctoral-research-opportunity-for-start-date-of-september-1-2015","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/smartlighting\/postdoctoral-research-opportunity-for-start-date-of-september-1-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Postdoctoral Research Opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Start date of September 1, 2015.<\/h3>\n<p>We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher join the MCL supported by our research program in optical wireless communication, networking, and immersive lighting as part of the NSF Smart Lighting Engineering Research Center.<\/p>\n<p>Our research is focused on a broad set of systems topics including:<br \/>\n\u2022 Wireless communications analysis<br \/>\n\u2022 Network modeling and analysis<br \/>\n\u2022 Pervasive computing<br \/>\n\u2022 Networked embedded systems<br \/>\n\u2022 Privacy, trust, security<br \/>\n\u2022 Implementation of working systems and applications<br \/>\n\u2022 Software defined radio and USRP programming<br \/>\nWe are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in (a) the PHY layer for high-speed free space optical systems, and (b) practical<br \/>\nexperience in network programming under Linux or embedded Linux;<br \/>\nalthough we would be delighted to support a highly agile researcher who can adapt to any challenge in the topics on our research agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates must be excellent communicators and be able to work in an interdisciplinary research environment; strong individually and strong as part of a team.<\/p>\n<p>Send CV and statement of research objectives and plan to: <a href=\"mailto:tdcl@bu.edu\">tdcl at BU.edu<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Start date of September 1, 2015.
