He also managed several studies with different epidemiologic designs including clinical trials, case-control studies, and cohort studies. His subsequent epidemiologic research focused on the pediatric population, with studies ranging from one assessing the impact of the Back to Sleep campaign on infant health to a trial assessing the use of xylitol for the prevention of ear infections. He was also instrumental in the inception and establishment of the SCOR Network, an office-based research network of pediatricians and family physicians from across the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Bringing together his epidemiologic experience and management skills, in 2003, Mr. Vezina became the Administrative Director of the Slone Epidemiology Center. He directs all administrative activities as well as financial and strategic planning for the center.
