Elizabeth Dougherty

Elizabeth Dougherty never satisfies her curiosity. After more than a decade designing software systems, Elizabeth’s inquisitive nature compelled her leave her job as an engineer behind. In 2005, she earned a Master’s degree in science journalism at Boston University and turned from a cube-dweller to a wandering writer. Now, instead of looking through code for bugs, she searches near and far for interesting stories. In the past year, Elizabeth has delved into an eclectic array of subjects, including renewable energy, nuclear terrorism, neural modeling, and lard, always finding the unexpected along the way. She shares what she uncovers by writing about the subtle ways that science and technology change our lives and our understanding of the world around us.
