He previously served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Massachusetts (2023-2025) and a Seasonal Certified Athletic Trainer at the United States Naval Academy (2022-2023).<br \/>\nAt UMass, Berardo worked with a variety of sport programs, including the women\u2019s lacrosse team, field hockey team, and both men\u2019s and women\u2019s track and field teams. While at USNA, he provided medical coverage and management for the men\u2019s water polo and men\u2019s gymnastics teams, while also assisting with men\u2019s and women\u2019s rugby, club ice hockey and cross country programs. During both of these roles, he provided patients with high-quality and compassionate care, ensuring that all of the patients concerns were addressed during treatments. Additionally, he collaborated with various high-performance staff members, including strength &amp; conditioning coaches, registered dietitians, and mental-health counselors, to ensure wholistic care was provided to his patients.<\/p>\n<p>Berardo\u2019s professional interests include return to play considerations during long-term injury rehabilitations and bridging the gap between strength &amp; conditioning professionals and athletic trainers. In addition, he is very active in professional organizations within athletic training. He has served as the Advisor of the Eastern Athletic Trainers Student Delegation since 2024, a committee which he participated in as an athletic training student.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of work, Berardo enjoys an active lifestyle. You can catch him playing pick-up ice hockey, pickle ball, and hiking.
