Taking charge of your own healthcare can sometimes feel challenging. Learn about how Student Health Services (SHS) works to navigate your care more easily.<\/p>\n
Most students can use our services and programs. Eligible students include:<\/p>\n
Part-time students with a different health insurance plan, students who are studying abroad without SHIP, or any students on a leave of absence are not eligible for medical or clinical services, but can attend mental health groups<\/a> and use prevention resources<\/a>. \u00a0They can contact SHS in an emergency<\/a> and ask for help finding healthcare services in the community.<\/p>\n Students in online-only programs are not eligible for services, but can access peer support and connect with a mental health clinician through the online platform Togetherall<\/a>. Self-help resources<\/a> are also available on common mental health concerns.<\/p>\n We provide a wide range of medical care,<\/a> mental health services<\/a>, and support for trauma survivors<\/a>. Our community outreach, prevention, and health promotion programs <\/a> foster a campus culture of safety and wellbeing. In an emergency, students are transported by ambulance to a local hospital emergency department and we will follow-up and provide additional care as needed. \nStudents are entitled to copies of their medical records and can access them using a written authorization. Medical records are kept for 20 years after the student\u2019s last visit or treatment at SHS.
