All over the world, people wear jeans to support survivors and educate the community. SARP observes this day by partnering with groups on campus such as the Center for Gender, Sexuality, & Activism, Residence Life, and First Year Success to incentivize students to think critically about how they prevent victim blaming while learning the history behind this demonstration.

Incarcerated Survivor Letter-Writing

The Incarcerated Survivor Letter-Writing Initiative (ISLW) is a monthly collaboration between SARP and the BU Prison Outreach Initiative. Originally launched by SARP Ambassador Hannah Zobair (CAS’22) in 2020, ISLW creates opportunities for students to support incarcerated survivors of domestic and sexual violence through handwritten letters. By fostering human connection and challenging the isolation faced by survivors, ISLW provides a meaningful, concrete way for the BU community to show solidarity and advocate for change.

We collaborate with departments and student organizations on campus to foster individual and collective action to reduce sexual and interpersonal violence.
