{"id":1612,"date":"2025-05-22T14:38:21","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T18:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/?page_id=1612"},"modified":"2026-06-16T12:25:02","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T16:25:02","slug":"peer-education-program-assistant","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/about-us\/get-involved\/health-promotion-program-assistants\/peer-education-program-assistant\/","title":{"rendered":"Peer Education Program Assistant"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>The Peer Education Program Assistant supports the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/about-us\/get-involved\/student-health-ambassadors\/\">Student Health Ambassadors<\/a> program in mentorship, recruitment, training, and administrative coordination.<\/h4>\n<h3>Eligibility requirements:<\/h3>\n<p>Incoming or continuing student enrolled in a graduate program at Boston University.<\/p>\n<h3>Opportunities include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/wellness\/get-involved\/student-health-ambassadors\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student Health Ambassadors <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(SHA) program management and coordination, including:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Committee activities and projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trainings led by SHS staff and other campus partners<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social and service events<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recruitment of SHAs<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Evaluation of SHA program<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist with strategic planning efforts with the SHA program<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collaborate with SHS departments and campus partners on programming and educational initiatives\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist with campus outreach events<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist with general office administration including email correspondence and maintenance, inventory tracking <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>An ideal candidate will have:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience mentoring, advising, or supervising young adults<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience with peer education groups or models<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong skills in project management, communication, and collaboration<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrated ability to think strategically, problem-solve, and make well-informed decisions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience incorporating concepts of diversity, inclusion, and social justice in health promotion<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Time commitment:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This position will be in person for 2025-2026 academic year<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Approximately 15 hours per week beginning in August 11, 2025 and ending in May 2025, with the potential to extend to the following academic year<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be available to attend and support SHA training on September 5 &amp;
