Eligible dependents include spouses and dependent children up to age 26. More information about enrolling dependents is found on Student Accounting Services\u2019 webpage on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/studentaccountingservices\/resources\/student-health-insurance-at-boston-university\/dependent-coverage\/\">Dependent Coverage<\/a>.<br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>Dental insurance.<\/strong> BU has partnered with MetLife to offer a PDP Plus plan that covers dental services for both in-network and out-of-network providers. Coverage can be purchased for yourself and your dependents by visiting <a href=\"https:\/\/bu.studentbenefitplans.com\/\">MetLife Boston University Student Dental Insurance <\/a>or by contacting MetLife at 877-247-8817.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Coverage Dates &amp; Rates<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/insurance\/health-insurance-requirement-eligibility\/\">Students required to have health insurance<\/a> are automatically enrolled in full-year SHIP coverage. For most, coverage begins on August 15 and ends on August 14 of the following year.<\/p>\n<h5>Coverage Dates<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For students starting in the fall semester<\/strong>, coverage lasts from August 15 through August 14 of the following year. Fall semester only coverage is available to specific eligible students through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/studentaccountingservices\/resources\/student-health-insurance-at-boston-university\/fall-only-coverage\/\">Student Accounting Services<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For students starting in the spring semester<\/strong>, coverage lasts from January 1 through August 14 of the same year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For students on the Medical Campus,<\/strong> coverage dates vary. Contact your program administrator to learn more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Coverage Rates<\/h5>\n<p>SHIP coverage rates may depend on your school and program.
