Students who do not complete the training will become non-compliant with the University and withheld from using the course planner and registering for classes during their second semester.<\/p>\n<h3>Training Deadlines<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Students who begin classes in the Fall semester will become non-compliant on October 15 if they have not completed the training<\/li>\n<li>Students who begin classes in the Spring semester will become non-compliant on March 15 if they have not completed the training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Why is this Required?<\/h3>\n<p>We recognize that not all students choose to use alcohol or other drugs. However, everyone plays a role in creating a safer campus for all. This AlcoholEdu training will share important information to help you make informed decisions, learn how to help others, and become familiar with resources and support services for substance use and recovery.<\/p>\n<p>If you have concerns about completing the training due to its content, you can request a confidential <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/health-requirements\/required-training\/training-waiver\/\">waiver<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Complete the Training<\/h3>\n<p>You\u2019ll receive an email when it\u2019s time to complete Part 1 of the training. Look for an email from \u201cBU Wellness Courses\u201d at the following times:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fall-start students will receive an email in mid-August<\/li>\n<li>Spring-start students will receive an email in mid-January<\/li>\n<li>Summer-start students will receive an email in late May<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will need to have your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/security\/iam\/authentication\/kerberos\/kerberos\/\">BU login and Kerberos password<\/a> to log into the training.<\/p>\n<p>You will receive another email when it\u2019s time to complete Part 2 of the training, about six weeks after you complete Part 1.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Check if You Met the Requirement<\/h3>\n<p>You can confirm that you completed training and met your Compliance requirement on the MyBU Student Portal:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into MyBU Student Portal<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>My Health &amp; Wellbeing<\/strong>\u00a0on the top menu bar<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Check Compliance Status<\/strong>\u00a0on the Quick Links list<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Please Note: It can take 24 hours for your compliance status to update<\/p>\n<h3>Tips for Completing the Training<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Explorer, Safari, iOS, or Android to avoid technical problems.<\/li>\n<li>You don\u2019t have to complete the training all at once. Each section ends with a \u201cNext\u201d button. Click this button before you close the browser to save your progress.<\/li>\n<li>You can change your preferred language for certain videos.<\/li>\n<li>Closed captions and content narration are available.<\/li>\n<li>Your survey responses are private. BU does not see students\u2019 individual answers. Only the student body\u2019s responses as a whole are used to inform programming and policies.<\/li>\n<li>Take care of yourself with breaks, privacy, or by being near others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Having Technical Problems?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>First make sure that your browser is up-to-date.<\/li>\n<li>If you cannot view the navigation buttons, you may be zoomed in too much on your screen. To zoom out on a PC or Chromebook, hit <strong>control 0 (zero)<\/strong>.
