Timesheet submission is not necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Can I work more than 20 hours per week?<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>The Policy on Student Work Hours for Employment at Boston University <strong>limits on-campus employment to 20 hours per week<\/strong>, but it does not apply to employment outside of Boston University.\u00a0 International students must also adhere to all limitations and requirements relating to on-campus student employment required by their immigration status and obtain ISSO work authorization if required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You may work up to 40 hours per week on-campus during official University break periods (detailed below).<\/strong> Work hours are based on department need and availability\u2014and you and your supervisor should agree on an appropriate work schedule.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a <strong>master&#8217;s or professional degree graduate worker<\/strong>, you can work more than 20 hours per week while classes are in session with approval by your advisor. If in a BUGWU-represented role, you would earn 1.5x the hourly rate for every hour past 20 hours. An easy way to look for these jobs is to select the \u201cWork-Study Preferred Jobs\u201d quick search function on the \u201cFind a Job\u201d page.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Does my Work-Study award expire?<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>Yes. Work-Study funding is available for two program periods. The first program covers the academic year, including Fall and Spring semesters. The second program period covers Summer only. When you have less than $500 in Work-Study funds, you will receive an email notification. We encourage you to notify your supervisor and discuss what would happen if your funds were to be depleted and you were not eligible for additional funding.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Can I use my Work-Study award in a job outside of Boston University?<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>There are opportunities to utilize a Work-Study award off campus.
