As a member of a team that relies on you, you are expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish a work schedule that does not interfere with your class schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Notify your supervisor in advance of any changes to your work schedule or other commitments that will affect work availability.\n<ul>\n<li>Give at least 24-hour advance notice when unable to work a scheduled shift.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Take the job seriously and perform at the highest level of your ability.<\/li>\n<li>Treat your supervisor and fellow employees with respect.<\/li>\n<li>Dress appropriately for the job location \u2014 some work sites have dress codes.\n<ul>\n<li>Practice good personal hygiene. Be sure to shower or bathe regularly, use deodorant, brush teeth, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Report to work on time. Notify your supervisor in advance of any possible delays.<\/li>\n<li>Not conduct personal business on the job.<\/li>\n<li>Refrain from using cell phones and personal laptops or tablets while on the job.<\/li>\n<li>Take an unpaid half-hour break if working\u00a0more than six consecutive hours.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hourly Paid students only<\/strong>: Accurately report the hours you work. Falsifying your timesheet is a federal offense. Follow the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/seo\/getting-paid\/timesheets\/\">Timesheet Submission Instructions<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/seo\/on-the-job\/job-evaluations\/\">Complete an evaluation on your work experience<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you work on a Boston University campus:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comply with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/computing\/policies\/ethics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston\u00a0University Policy on Computing Ethics<\/a>\u00a0when using the University\u2019s computing facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain confidentiality under the\u00a0<a href=\"\/seo\/on-the-job\/ferpa\/\">Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act<\/a>. All students working on campus must sign a confidentiality agreement stored with the department of hire. Students may be asked to sign this form with separate departments of work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additionally, if you are a Work-Study student:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor your Work-Study award balance in MyBU Works<em>Work-Study Award Information<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Employee Time Entry<\/em>, or\u00a0<em>View Salary Statement<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Notify your supervisor of any changes in your Work-Study award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additionally, if you work in an\u00a0off-campus Work-Study position:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit timesheets weekly following Payroll Procedures provided to yourself and your agency.<\/li>\n<li>Report any workplace accidents or injuries to your supervisor, agency, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bu.service-now.com\/sp?id=sc_cat_item&amp;sys_id=0d150dfb93ecda10d2473ad97bba1072&amp;sysparm_category=944a01b393201e10d2473ad97bba104d&amp;catalog_id=-1\">Student Employment<\/a>\u00a0immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"alert\"><span class=\"material-icons\">\ue002<\/span><strong> When you complete a task, don\u2019t assume there\u2019s nothing else to do.
