{"id":509,"date":"2025-01-06T10:28:08","date_gmt":"2025-01-06T15:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/seo\/?page_id=509"},"modified":"2026-05-11T15:58:54","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T19:58:54","slug":"appealing-for-additional-funding","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/seo\/work-study\/appealing-for-additional-funding\/","title":{"rendered":"Appealing for Additional Work-Study Funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><span data-teams=\"true\">Appeal Process for New, Reinstated, or Increased Work-Study Awards<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span>If you\u2019re seeking additional funding for an existing Federal Work-Study award, requesting a previously declined Federal Work-Study award be reinstated or requesting consideration a new Federal Work-Study award this year, you may submit the appeal request using the form below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--StartFragment--><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">For incoming admitted students for the 2026\u20132027 academic year, FWS appeals will be reviewed closer to the start of the Fall 2026 semester<\/span><!--EndFragment--><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>If you are requesting an increase to a current Federal Work-Study award, here\u2019s how it works:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Submit at the right time<\/strong> \u2013 Please submit your request when you have a remaining Work-Study balance of\u00a0<strong>four work weeks or less of earnings<\/strong>. For example, a student working 10 hours\/week at $15.00\/hour should submit an appeal for additional funding once their balance reaches $600.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Submit when actively working <\/strong>\u2013 We will only consider appeals\u00a0if you are actively working in a Work-Study position and will run out of funding before the program end date.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Submit via form<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once we confirm that you have eligibility in your total financial assistance package for additional Federal Work-Study funding, we will review your appeal. We make every effort to respond to all appeal requests as long as funding remains available.<\/p>\n<p>Questions?
