Our team of RDNs are prepared to help you implement evidence-based nutrition approaches including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nutritional information for foods and beverages sold in workplace cafeterias, snack carts, or other retail locations<\/li>\n<li>Development of nutrition criteria aligned with the <a href=\"http:\/\/health.gov\/dietaryguidelines\/2015\/guidelines\/\">2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>Identification of food and beverage choices that meet nutrition criteria<\/li>\n<li>Recipe modification and development of new recipes to meet nutrition criteria<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Interactive nutrition <a href=\"\/scnc\/all-services\/nutrition-seminars\/\">seminars<\/a> and <a href=\"\/scnc\/all-services\/nutrition-workshops\/\">workshops<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/scnc\/all-services\/individual-nutrition-counseling\/\">One-on-one individual<\/a> and <a href=\"\/scnc\/groups\/\">group nutrition counseling<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please indicate your area of interest when you <a href=\"\/scnc\/forms\/contact\/\">contact us<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Learn more about specialized support for:<\/h3>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">BU Faculty &amp; Staff<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><br \/>\nThe SCNC offers a unique <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/scnc\/all-services\/nutrition-by-design\/\">Nutrition by Design<\/a> program for faculty and staff as part of BU&#8217;s health and wellness program. This program is based on the scientific evidence about nutrition and activity for health promotion, with special consideration for cardiac risk factors (including diabetes, elevated blood pressure or cholesterol) and digestive disorders. Participants are guided through an assessment of their nutrient needs in order to establish realistic and sustainable goals, taking into consideration lifestyle demands and constraints, food restrictions and preferences, and health goals. Skills and strategies for meal planning, dining out, food shopping, and recipe modification are emphasized. This program includes up to four individual sessions with an RDN.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Fee for BU Faculty &amp; Staff: $50<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For those seeking additional support beyond the four sessions in the Nutrition by Design Package, we offer ongoing individual counseling for BU employees. Costs vary depending on insurance benefits. Common referrals include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overweight and obesity<\/li>\n<li>Blood pressure<\/li>\n<li>Cholesterol<\/li>\n<li>Diabetes and prediabetes<\/li>\n<li>Polycystic ovary syndrome<\/li>\n<li>Eating disorders and disordered eating<\/li>\n<li>Celiac disease\/gluten free diet instruction<\/li>\n<li>Food allergies and sensitivities<\/li>\n<li>Digestive disorders\/FODMAP<\/li>\n<li>Sports nutrition<\/li>\n<li>Vegetarian or vegan meal planning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are participating providers for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aetna<\/li>\n<li>Aetna Student Health<\/li>\n<li>Cigna Healthcare<\/li>\n<li>Harvard Pilgrim Health Care<\/li>\n<li>Blue Cross Blue Shield<\/li>\n<li>Tufts Health Plan<\/li>\n<li>United Healthcare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We encourage you to check with your insurance company to determine if your health plan includes a nutrition counseling benefit.
