Beginning the entry-level occupational therapy doctorate program at Boston University was such a great decision for my life and my career. <\/span>I have met wonderful people all from different places who bring with them intellectually diverse perspectives. I feel comfortable meeting with professors to talk about anything, and I know they care deeply about what I have to say. <\/span>Through the professors here at BU and all of the school’s academic connections, I have access to everything: w<\/span>orld-class hospitals, local schools, autism research labs, spinal cord injury rehabilitation programs, treatment programs for substance use disorders. I am free to explore all that OT has to offer here.<\/p>\n Your unique experiences are really valued. <\/span>I had almost no knowledge of statistics, healthcare policy, anatomy, or other subjects like therapeutic art groups, but I was able to learn from classmates who did. <\/span>This size of our classes really helped our learning. <\/span>There was always a variety of different perspectives and experiences, but our classes were small enough that our voices were always heard and we had one-on-one guidance from our professors. The time I can spend with the professors is really amazing.<\/p>\n Looking forward to life after school, I know that I will be fully prepared for whatever practice-area I choose and that my peers and professors will remain an important part of my professional life.
