The folder that you receive at the Sargent Convocation will not contain your diploma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please visit the Registrar Diploma Order\/Mailing Schedule page for instructions on updating your mailing address and for the mailing schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/calendars\/diplomas\/\"><b>https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/calendars\/diplomas\/<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"announcement-item\">\n<hr \/>\n<h2>All University Commencement<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Sunday, May 17, 2026 | 1:00 p.m.<\/strong><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/goterriers.com\/facilities\/nickerson-field\/10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nickerson Field<\/a> | 285 Babcock St. (<em>rain or shine)<br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/commencement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">All University Commencement Information<\/a><em><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/commencement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div><span>Please check the All University Commencement website for important information, including the specific timing for participating in the day&#8217;s events.<\/span><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>What do I have to do to prepare for graduation?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>All students must fill out the online Sargent College <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sargent\/about-us\/convocation\/sargent-college-application-for-graduation\/\">Application for Graduation<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sargent\/student-resources\/commencement\/sargent-college-application-for-graduation\/\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0to establish a tentative graduation record.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The form should be completed no later than <strong>one full semester in advance<\/strong> of the intended graduation date. Students must have <strong>all course and credit requirements complete <\/strong>prior to their graduation cycle in order to officially graduate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Students graduating in January and August<\/strong> are eligible to participate in the May graduation ceremony of the same calendar year as their official graduation date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Doctoral students<\/strong> (PhD) must check with their advisor as to their eligibility to participate, and it is recommended that the dissertation defense be scheduled by mid-April if the student is to receive their hood and diploma in the May ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Commencement information will be sent by email and postal mail so please be sure that BU has updated contact information.
