Degree Requirements

For those following the  curriculum (class of 2022 and after), please review the Sargent Hub page as well as the BU Bulletin for specific degree requirements.

The Human Physiology curriculum has premedical courses built in as requirements. It’s an excellent alternative to a traditional biology degree, because it expands on the usual pre-med requisites with classes such as gross human anatomy, exercise physiology, cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, neuroanatomy, and neurophysiology.

The four-year curriculum includes five electives in the humanities and social sciences. It also allows for up to three additional electives you can use to go deeper into a specific discipline, complete prerequisite courses for a graduate program, or explore your other interests in any BU school or college.

Degree Requirements

The minimum requirements to enter the junior year are 64 credits and a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Graduation requires a minimum of 128 credits with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0. This GPA must represent a record that contains no more than 16 credits of D grades.

Transfer requirements

A course will not be accepted for external transfer if the grade is lower than a C. (A grade of C- is not acceptable.)
