She is studying under the direction of Professor Rachel Mesch and Professor Odile Cazenave. Her dissertation investigates how French and Francophone women writers and artists<span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">\u2014including Daniel Lesueur, Colette Yver, Camille Claudel, Agn\u00e8s Varda, and Maryse Cond\u00e9\u2014 use representations of motherhood and memory to exercise resilience and articulate creative agency<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt;\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; font-stretch: normal; min-height: 22px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt;\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; font-stretch: normal;\"><span class=\"s1\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'UICTFontTextStyleBody',serif;\">Before joining Boston University, Haleigh <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody, serif; font-size: 17.3333px;\">taught French at Brigham Young University and<\/span><span style=\"font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody, serif; font-size: 13pt;\"> interned for the dean of the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Lille. Her master&#8217;s thesis explored the theme of redemption in the life and work of sculptor Camille Claudel. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and published academic book reviews on nineteenth-century French women authors.
