Brittany Bernard is a PhD Candidate and Teaching Fellow in French Language & Literature at Boston University. Prior to her studies at BU, Brittany earned an MA in French Studies from Brown University and an MA in French Language and Literature from Boston College. She also holds a BA in French and Francophone Studies from Union College, during the course of which she lived and studied abroad at the Universit\u00e9 de Rennes II in Rennes, France, and the Universit\u00e9 des Antilles et de la Guyane in Fort de France, Martinique.<\/p>\n
Brittany is currently writing her dissertation entitled Revenants: Memory, Trauma, and the Feminine Voice in the Work of Mati Diop, Diane Kurys, Le\u00efla Sebbar, and Alice Zeniter<\/em>. Her research interests lie at the intersections of memory, trauma, and gender studies as they relate to 20th and 21st century French and Francophone literature and film.
