She received her BA in Journalism and Hispanic Studies from the Universidad de Puerto Rico (R\u00edo Piedras) and later completed her MA in Spanish Literature at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Besides her work in BU, as a PhD candidate and Teaching Fellow in Spanish, since 2015, she has been a monthly columnist for Claridad\u2019s cultural supplement \u201cEn Rojo\u201d. Selected publications include \u201cChristian Ibarra, ventana adentro\u201d (The Puerto Rico Review), \u201cArchivo y exilio\u201d (Observatorio del Instituto Cervantes) and \u00ab\u201cQuerido amigo y admirado poeta\u201d: cartas entre Jorge Guill\u00e9n y Francisco Matos Paoli\u00bbincluded in the book En busca de Francisco Matos Paol\u00ed(Ediciones Callej\u00f3n).
