{"id":11126,"date":"2015-09-03T11:56:56","date_gmt":"2015-09-03T15:56:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=11126"},"modified":"2015-09-03T11:56:56","modified_gmt":"2015-09-03T15:56:56","slug":"elizabeth-goldsmith","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/elizabeth-goldsmith\/","title":{"rendered":"Elizabeth Goldsmith"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Research and Teaching<\/h2>\n<p>Elizabeth Goldsmith\u2019s research focuses on French literature and culture of the early modern period.\u00a0 Her books include <em>Exclusive Conversations: The Art of Interaction in Seventeenth-Century France<\/em> (1988), <em>Publishing Women\u2019s Life Stories, 1647-1720<\/em> (2001), and <em>Writing the Female Voice: Essays on Epistolary Literature<\/em> (1989).\u00a0 She co-edited a collection of essays with Dena Goodman, <em>Going Public: Women and Publishing in the Ancien R\u00e9gime<\/em> (1995), with Colette Winn <em>Lettres de femmes<\/em> (2004), and with Patricia Cholakian <em>La V\u00e9rit\u00e9 dans son jour<\/em> (1998), the memoirs of Marie Mancini.\u00a0 Her book <em>The Kings\u2019 Mistresses: The Liberated Lives of Marie Mancini, Princess Colonna, and Her Sister Hortense, Duchess Mazarin<\/em> was published in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Goldsmith\u2019s teaching focused on the literature of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, especially theatre, letters, the novel, travel writing, and memoirs.
