Gass Professor of Arts and Sciences, at Washington University in St. Louis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Professor Mora\u00f1a is known worldwide for her original re-readings of canonical texts of Latin American literature\u2014from the colonial period through the 21st century\u2014and for her groundbreaking contributions to the development of postcolonial perspectives on Latin America. She is the author of <em>Pol\u00edticas de la escritura en Am\u00e9rica Latina<\/em> (Caracas, 1997), <em>Viaje al silencio. Exploraciones del discurso barroco<\/em> (M\u00e9xico, 1998), and <em>Cr\u00edtica impura<\/em> (Madrid, 2004). She has edited and co-edited a number of essay collections, including <em>Carlos Monsiv\u00e1is ante la critica<\/em> (M\u00e9xico, 2007) and <em>Coloniality at Large. <\/em><em>Latin America and the Postcolonial Debate<\/em> (United States 2008).
