Organized by Ph.D. students <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/gonzalo-carretero-martinez\/\"><strong>Gonzalo Carretero Mart\u00ednez<\/strong><\/a>,<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/wiktoria-bryzys\/\">Wiktoria Bryzys<\/a><\/strong>, and<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/maria-del-mar-terol-cabrerizo-2\/\">Mar\u00eda del Mar Terol Cabrerizo<\/a><\/strong>, the conference delved into the theme of \u201cRemembered &amp; Forgotten,\u201d a theme that sparked meaningful discussions on the importance of remembering and interpreting literary works. By challenging traditional narratives and elevating overlooked works, the event highlighted the ongoing relevance of historical inquiry in shaping our understanding of literature and culture today.<\/p>\n<p>The conference featured four panels, each skillfully moderated by RS Ph.D. students and covering a range of compelling topics. The opening panel on Contemporary Latin American Literature, moderated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/tijana-cupic\/\"><strong>Tijana Cupic<\/strong><\/a>, included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/jose-diaz-baez\/\"><strong>Jos\u00e9 Luis D\u00edaz B\u00e1ez<\/strong>&#8216;s<\/a> examination of Jos\u00e9 Donoso&#8217;s influence on contemporary Argentinian writer Agustina Bazterrica. The second panel, centered on Autobiographical Fiction and moderated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/inigo-huercanos-esparza\/\"><strong>\u00cd\u00f1igo Hu\u00e9rcanos Esparza<\/strong><\/a>, showcased <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/isaque-de-moura-goncalves\/\"><strong>Isaque de Moura<\/strong>&#8216;s<\/a> exploration of Josefa Acevedo de G\u00f3mez\u2019s autobiography. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/fred-lafortune\/\"><strong>Fred Lafortune<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0led the third panel on Memory, Language, and Trauma in Francophone Literature, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/gonzalo-carretero-martinez\/\"><strong>Gonzalo Carretero<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0guided the final panel featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/fernanda-alves-dos-santos\/\"><strong>Fernanda Alves dos Santos<\/strong><\/a>&#8216; analysis of insurgent feminist poetry by Vilma Flores, one of Roque Dalton\u2019s heteronyms.
