{"id":25515,"date":"2024-03-06T16:52:57","date_gmt":"2024-03-06T21:52:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/?p=25515"},"modified":"2024-03-06T17:14:58","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T22:14:58","slug":"romance-studies-hosts-conference-on-disabilities-second-language-learning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/2024\/03\/06\/romance-studies-hosts-conference-on-disabilities-second-language-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"Romance Studies Hosts Conference on Disabilities &#038; Second Language Learning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This past weekend, the Romance Studies Department hosted the 6th Annual Second-Language Learning &amp; Disabilities Conference, organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/maria-datel\/\">Mar\u00eda Datel<\/a> (Master Lecturer in Spanish at BU) and Elena Carri\u00f3n Guerrero (Tufts University).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/edgardo-tormos-bigles\/\">Edgardo Tormos<\/a>, a lecturer in Spanish at BU Romance Studies, presented at the conference and had this to say about the experience:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I am humbled, and I am also grateful for my colleagues. This is not your run-of-the-mill academic conference. It is a truly unique encounter of educators committed to accessible and inclusive language pedagogy.
