{"id":24824,"date":"2023-05-16T11:21:54","date_gmt":"2023-05-16T15:21:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/?p=24824"},"modified":"2023-05-16T11:21:54","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T15:21:54","slug":"four-rs-students-defend-dissertations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/2023\/05\/16\/four-rs-students-defend-dissertations\/","title":{"rendered":"Four RS Students Defend Dissertations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to the four Romance Studies doctoral students who successfully defended their dissertations in the spring &#8217;23 semester!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/gerardo-cruz\/\"><strong>Gerardo Cruz<\/strong><\/a>, PhD in Hispanic Language &amp; Literatures, wrote his dissertation, <em>La apor\u00eda postnacional:\u00a0 identidades posthumanas y espectrales en la literatura y las artes Latinoamericanos contempor\u00e1neas<\/em>, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/rodrigo-lopes-de-barros\/\">Prof. Rodrigo Lopes de Barros<\/a> as his first reader.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/jose-dominicci-buzo\/\"><strong>Jos\u00e9 Dominicci Buzo<\/strong><\/a>, PhD in Hispanic Language &amp; Literatures, wrote his dissertation, titled <em>Eros en carnaval:\u00a0 literatura de burdel en Espa\u00f1a e Italia en la modernidad temprana<\/em>, under the direction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/james-iffland\/\">Prof. James Iffland<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/laura-mayron\/\"><strong>Laura Mayron<\/strong><\/a>, PhD in Hispanic Language &amp; Literatures, wrote her dissertation, titled <em>The Abject Body in Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca, 1929-1930<\/em>, under the direction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/christopher-maurer\/\">Prof. Christopher Maurer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/rs\/profile\/jose-luis-nogales-baena\/\"><strong>Jos\u00e9 Luis Nogales Baena<\/strong><\/a>, PhD in Hispanic Language &amp; Literatures, wrote his dissertation, <em>Soviet Culture and Cultural Exchange in Mexico During the Cold War<\/em>, with Prof. Adela Pineda as the first reader.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to the four Romance Studies doctoral students who successfully defended their dissertations in the spring &#8217;23 semester!
