In 2004, he received the <\/span><a href=\"\/provost\/awards-publications\/award-opportunities\/metcalf\/awards-for-excellence-in-teaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Metcalf Award for Excellence in Teaching<\/a><span>.
