We apologize for the inconvenience, but our training registration system is currently undergoing maintenance.  We hope to have it back online shortly.  As such, if you are trying to register for a RIMS training profile, you will receive an error stating “EditLoginModel.refresh EntityId not found in database.” Those who already have RIMS Training Profiles should not be affected.  Please contact rims_at_bu_dot_edu with any questions or comments.

As a PI new to RIMS, what do I complete first?  My PI Profile.  The RIMS team has created a new step-by-step presentation on how to complete your PI Profile and Chemical Inventory - what you should do when logging into RIMS for the first time.  To view the tutorial, please see the new Tutorials section of the RIMS website.

For a step-by-step presentation on how to complete your BUA (IBC Application) on RIMS, please see the new Tutorials section of the RIMS website.  This detailed tutorial is the first in a series designed to help you navigate effectively and efficiently through the RIMS application.

Researchers can now submit their Biological Use Authorization applications (formerly known as the IBC application) online via RIMS.  As of June 1, 2010, all Boston University researchers will  be required to submit their BUA applications via RIMS.  Please contact the IBC with any questions, or use the contact form for any difficulties.

Samples for cell line and biological materials to be injected into rodents (see Policy) are now again accepted.  After 31-January-2010, the Provost’s Office will no longer pay for testing and PIs must pay for this required testing.

The Policy for Pathogen Testing of Biological Materials is now available online.  Prior to the administration of cell lines and biological materials into animals, a form must be submitted to and approved by the LASC or LACF.  This form is available on RIMS. Please contact the LASC or LACF with any questions.
